The End.

As they say, “All good things must come to an end.”  I guess the half-assed, ill-conceived disasters need to as well.  I wish I could say, “With great regret, I’ve decided to close TastingLasVegas.com,” but that would be a lie.  The reasons are numerous, but when it comes down to it, I’m just not really having all that much fun with it anymore.  The blog has turned from being a hobby into being a chore.  With this being an unpaid operation, I’m not able to do the job that I want to do and maintain the high ethical standards which I strongly feel are necessary to continue.  I’m one of those people that if I can’t do it right, I don’t want to do it at all.

But enough about me, the primary purpose of writing this farewell is to thank all of you.  Thanks for taking the time to read, to comment and to join me on this little adventure.  I hope you were entertained, maybe learned a thing or two and had a couple of good bites of food along the way.  I know I’ve learned an extraordinary amount bringing this mess to you, I can only hope it came across in the writing.  Sure I’ve pissed off a whole legion of people, but I’ve made some good friends along the way, too. And for that, I will always look back on my TLV era fondly.

Above all, I need to thank the love of my life, and the lovely girl you’ve come to know as The Wife.  She has always been my number one fan and my strongest supporter.  For all of the time she’s sat across the table being ignored as I took a picture, jotted down notes or tweeted to the world what I was about to put in my mouth, I owe her many a date night for ruining nearly every dining experience we’ve had together this past year.  She’s the best…but I knew that way before this blog thing.  I guess that’s why I married her.  Still don’t know why she married me.

I don’t know what comes next.  All I know is that I’ve got a bunch of laundry to do, dishes to clean, shelves to dust and carpets to vacuum.   I hate carpets.  I really want to get rid of these filthy carpets.  Oh well….

Here’s to eating well with friends and loved ones! Always.

Mike
