In a move reminiscent of the great Federation / Klingon Alliance, The Cupcakery and Retro Bakery have teamed up to do a canned food drive for Three Square.  For the month of December, bring in a canned good to the Cupcakery’s Eastern or Summerlin locations or Retro’s Centennial Hills location  and get a free cupcake. There’s a limit of 3 canned goods per day per person.  If an alliance like this can happen, this shows there may be hope for the Koreas yet!

Chef Jet Tila and his emporium of tasty eats at the Encore resort, Wazuzu, are looking for a new General Manager.  Applicants should be able to say Jet Tila’s name in a tone of great reverence, have the ability to work in the blinding light of Jet Tila’s greatness and be prepared to be a TV star as the camera can’t seem to stay away from Jet Tila.   Ha!  Kidding, of course, but Jet is a cool dude and I can only imagine is a good guy to work with, so go apply.  Good luck!

Chef Kerry Simon is hosting an afternoon of fun family holiday activities to help benefit Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada. On Saturday, December 11, from 2pm-4pm, Simon at Palms Place will have a meet and greet with Santa, Gingerbread Cookie Decorating, festive music and a bunch of food like Mac n’ Cheese, Tea Sandwiches and Holiday Junk Food Platters.  There’ll also be Cranberry Mojitos for the parents and Hot Cocoa for the kids.  Cost is $50 per parent, $25 per kid.

Big shoutout to Rob Mrwoka with the Center for Biological Diversity for speaking out on KLAS Channel 8 about the gravely endangered Bluefin Tuna.
