The Weekly Bad Picture Of Good Food: Won Ton Shrimp Tacos From Ernie's High Adventure Pub & Deli

Have you ever gotten out of your car, look at the front of a restaurant and think to yourself, “Man, this place is gonna suck.”  Then you walk into the establishment, look at the contrived bullshit theme of reproduced authenticity scattered among the walls, and think to yourself, “Man, this place is really gonna suck.”  This was my first impression of Ernie’s as The Wife and I sat down next to the African safari mural and underneath the digitally reproduced sepia-toned photos of this joint’s namesake, Ernest Hemingway.

But then we ate the food…and to our surprise…it did not suck. In fact, it was quite good.  Curried Goat?  Conch Fritters?  Short Ribs with a glaze that would rival anybody’s? In a video poker bar in Henderson?  Yes. Ernie’s delivered. And in fact, the only thing that did suck were the pictures I took of the food, thus making the Won Ton Shrimp Tacos from Ernie’s High Adventure Pub & Deli this week’s Weekly Bad Picture of Good Food.
