Monday Mise en Place: Food and Wine Magazine Names CityCenter to “Go List”

Food and Wine Magazine

Food and Wine Magazine

Food and Wine Magazine recently gave a nod to CityCenter in its “Go List” of the 100 Best New Food & Drink Experiences.  With a whole slew of categories featuring eating and drinking establishments from all over the globe, CityCenter was in the “amazing new food megaplexes” section.   While the “CityCenter” apparently can’t even score an off-ramp from the neighboring interstate highway, it sure does have a pile of restaurants in it.  Congratulations!

Hero

Every straight man’s hero, Hugh Hefner, turned 84 a few days back and celebrated his birthday with a miserably boring meal at N9ne Steakhouse in the Palms.  The R-J’s Gossip Guru, Norm Clarke, had the scoop in a recent article of his about Hefner e-mailing a requested menu to Chef Dakake featuring slices of unseasoned tomato and an unseasoned baked potato.  Hugh…buddy…pal…you’re 84, you’re in what may be the best steakhouse in Las Vegas and you have an army of surgically enhanced breasts at your disposal.  Go ahead and have a steak.  Treat yourself.   Check out Norm’s column, here.

The Birthday Boy!

The Birthday Boy!

A Happy Birthday shoutout to Tasting Las Vegas’ own, Michael Manley who is celebrating his 44th today!  In case you haven’t heard the news, he is (sort of) Tweeting on his own now at @TLV_Michael, so you can wish him a happy birthday along with your hate mail there.  If you wanted to send a gift, please send cash and send it to me.  I’ll make sure he gets it…yeah….
