Alizé to Host “Deadliest Catch” Dinner

Crustacean lovers rejoice, Chef André Rochat and his Michelin-Starred Alizé restaurant at the top of the Palms resort will be joined by Captain Keith Colburn of the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” to offer a crab tasting extravaganza!

A six-course menu each paired with wine, Chef Rochat says the menu will “truly showcase and celebrate the variety of flavor of the crab.” The mouth-watering dishes with wine pairings are as follows:

Crab Salad with Marinated Avocado, Green and White Asparagus and Tomato
Horseradish Purée
Taittinger Domaine Carneros (sparkling)

Crab Ravioli with Celery Root Purée, Candied Kumquats and Black Truffles
Riesling, Pichler, Loibner Berg, Smaragd, Wachau 2003

Crab and Piquillo Pepper Stuffed Calamari
Lobster Sausage, Grilled Octopus and Fingerling Potatoes
Squid Ink Velouté
Sauvignon Blanc, Frog’s Leap, Napa Valley 2008

Fricassée of King Crab Leg and Frogs Legs
Fava Beans, Pearl Onions and Smoked Bacon in Puff Pastry Shell
Chardonnay, Saintsbury, Brown Ranch, Carneros, Napa Valley 2006

Veal Stuffed with King Crab Leg

The “Deadliest Catch” dinner will be held at Alizé on Wednesday, March 24 with a champagne reception at 6:30pm followed by the dinner at 7.   Priced at $135 per person, it sounds like a pretty tasty event to go to (you’ll have to let me know as I’m regrettably unable to attend).
